Angie Martinez has had plenty of incredible experiences on-air, but there's only one true moment that she would relive once again.

On Thursday, August 21, iHeartRadio released its exclusive conversation with the seasoned personality in honor of National Radio Day. Martinez, who dominates afternoons each week on Power 105.1 in her hometown of New York City, spoke about a slew of impactful memories she had while rocking the mic from her best days to her toughest times. Despite all the eye-popping moments she's lived through, Angie Martinez said she would love to redo her first day live on-air.

"If I could relive one radio moment, it probably would be my first day on the air to really kind of mark it," Angie said. "The fact that I don't remember what my first day is on the air — that kind of sucks. I would've liked to make it a memorable moment 'cause it would've marked the beginning of something that would change my life forever. It gave me a career. It gave me so many beautiful relationships, friendships, and experiences. I think I would do day one with the intention of paying attention to it and marking that really special moment."

After making a name for herself as a Grammy-nominated artist, Angie Martinez went on to accomplish so much as a radio personality. She first went live on Power 105.1 in 2014. Since then, Martinez has won numerous awards for her on-air work, including the 2018 NAB Marconi Radio Award for Personality of the Year. She was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2020. While maintaining her syndicated show, the New York native also hosts her hit podcast Angie Martinez IRL, where she speaks to powerful figures in Hip-Hop and beyond.
