Donald Glover delivered his latest body of work as promised.
On Sunday night, May 12, the artist known as Childish Gambino debuted his new album Atavista on his GILGA Radio show. The album, which is out via RCA Records and his mcDJ Recording imprint, is a reworked version of his 2020 LP 3.15.20 with new song titles and fresh collaborations. Although the tracklist is shorter than before, 'Bino's refurbished project still holds "Time" featuring Ariana Grande and "Psilocybae (Millenial Love)" with 21 Savage, Ink and Kadhja Bonet. New additions to the project include "Sweet Thang" featuring Summer Walker and Young Nudy's verse on "Little Foot Big Foot"
In celebration of the album's release, Childish Gambino also shared the official music video for his new collaboration with Nudy. The short black-and-white film shows him and his dancers performing for a tough crowd inside a prohibition-era speakeasy. Actress Quinta Brunson makes a quick cameo before he begins his lively performance. Later on, the "Peaches & Eggplants" rapper closes out the visuals as he towers over the secluded venue.
Donald Glover has been preparing his fans for the end of his run as Childish Gambino. Last month, the actor-artist confirmed Atavista would be his second-to-last album under his popular rap moniker. During his radio show, he explained that his final LP would also serve as the soundtrack to his upcoming film Bando Stone in the New World. The release date for his final album hasn't been confirmed, but it will most likely arrive before his tour kicks off this summer.
