A snack sold in stores around the country has been recalled due to the risk of causing a "serious" reaction.

Feel Good Foods has issued a nationwide voluntary recall of both its Gluten-Free Plain and Gluten-Free Everything flavored Cream Cheese Stuffed Mini Bagels because they may contain undeclared gluten due to cross-contamination, according to a recall notice shared by the the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. This could pose a risk for a "serious allergic reaction" for consumers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to gluten.

The affected products — Cream Cheese Stuffed Plain Mini Bagels (UPC 89903900283) and Cream Cheese Stuffed Everything Mini Bagels (UPC 89903900286) — include Best By dates ranging from 5/29/24 to 9/17/25, listed on the bottom of the cardboard cartons. The products were distributed to retailers around the country and sold in the frozen section. No other Feel Good Foods products have been affected.

According to the FDA, the recall was issued after the company received one report of an adverse reaction to gluten. Feel Good Foods Founder Vanessa Phillips said the company "took swift action" to issue the recall once they were made aware of the "trace amounts" of cross-contamination.

"As a founder who is personally affected by celiac disease, ensuring the integrity and safety of our gluten-free products is of the utmost importance," said Phillips. "We take the health and safety of our consumers extremely seriously."

Anyone with a gluten allergy or sensitivity to wheat or gluten is told not to consume the affected products and to throw them out or visit their retailer for a refund.
