Michael Strahan Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Michael Strahan has tested positive for coronavirus, according to TMZ.

On Wednesday (January 27), the celebrity gossip outlet reported that the Good Morning America host, 49, is currently quarantining because of his recent diagnosis. Strahan’s positive test also explains why he's been absent from the morning news show all week long. Fans recently noticed that he only appeared remotely for his other hosting gig on FOX NFL Sunday during the NFL Championship and that's because he had already went into isolation.

Sources close to TMZ revealed that Strahan learned on Saturday that he had been exposed at some point last week and immediately went into quarantine. While he is not experiencing any severe symptoms, Strahan came in contact with his daughters, Sophia and Isabella, after he had been exposed, so the pair, as well as their mother, Jean Muggli, went to get tested to learn their status.

Good Morning America confirmed the diagnosis on their Thursday broadcast, where his fellow co-hosts offered an update on his health and wished him a speedy speedy. “He's also feeling well, looking forward to being back here shortly," George Stephanopoulos told viewers. "And you should also know, all of us here both in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes have been cleared by Disney to be here after contract tracing following CDC guidelines."
