Kodak Black Moved From 'Torture' Prison After Filing Lawsuit

Kodak Black has been granted a prison transfer after issuing a lawsuit claiming he was tortured by guards.

According to TMZ, who broke the exclusive this morning (October 16), the “Skrilla” rapper has been transferred from the Kentucky prison where he claims prison guards subjected him to various forms of intentional harm. Per Kodak’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, the 23-year-old has since been moved from the maximum-security USP Big Sandy to USP Thomson in Illinois.

The transfer comes weeks after Kodak filed a suit against the Federal Bureau of Prisons for the alleged torture, beatings, mental abuse, and religious suppression he experienced at the hands of Big Sandy’s security guards. Kodak, who was moved there in October 2019, claims his rights have been violated since he arrived.

Previous documents obtained by TMZ indicated the “Roll in Peace” artist was transferred to Kentucky after getting involved in an altercation with another inmate at a Miami prison that caused an officer to get injured. There, he claims Big Sandy guards retaliated by ordering a “gang beating” on him not long after he touched down, alleging the guards “flicked” his private parts during the physical altercation.

What’s more, Big Sandy's security guards allegedly placed Kodak in a backless paper gown on a “4-point restraint” for more than six hours without bathroom access, causing the lyricist to soil himself as guards stood by mocking him.

While the musician’s attorney says his client is in a better situation than before, Kodak’s being so far away from his native Florida has made it challenging for his family to visit him. Reasonably so, Kodak isn't happy. At this time, Cohen is working toward getting his client's privileges — visitation, commissary, etc. — reinstated within the next several months.

As fans know, Kodak pled guilty to a firearms possession case after being detained at the Canadian-American border back in March.
