Maybe it’s not supposed to happen. We’re referring to the highly anticipated R&B Battle between Riley and Babyface.After being postponed the first time, it was supposed to go down again last night, but again, it didn’t 🙁
The first time it was supposed to happen, if you recall, it was put off because Babyface (and his family) was sick. He caught COVID-19 and wasn’t quite 100% for the first scheduled battle, so they called it off.
If you were one of the unlucky ones who tuned in for the action, you know the battle was supposed to kick off at 9pm, but by 10pm it still hadn’t started. A person from Teddy’s crew hopped on camera and told viewers to come back in 30 minutes while they worked out their technical difficulties.
For Babyface, 62, it was close to bedtime so he was basically over it and suggested the battle be postponed again to a later date:
“I think that it’s only right that we postpone this thing until another time when there aren’t any technical difficulties, and everybody can hear the music the way it needs to be heard,” he said.
Teddy Riley, 52, then posted a video to apologize for the audio issues while comparing the snafu to a boxing match:
