Georgia gas prices a dollar lower than a year ago

Georgia along with the whole country is seeing a continual drop in gas prices.

AAA is saying that the average Georgia driver is now paying $1.77 per gallon when they fill up. The price point is eight cents lower than it was last week and 84 cents lower than a year ago.

AAA say they "expect gas prices to keep dropping" as the price of oil drops. With more people staying home, the demands for gas is at it's lowest since 1993 according to AAA.

The cause of lower gas prices is a response to the lower price that oil is seeing due to the the health and economic impact being felt by the COVID-19 pandemic.
